S.M.A.R.T Goal Setting
When it comes to goal setting, we use a process or part of a process called S.M.A.R.T. goal setting. It’s an acronym – SMART It stands for SPECIFIC, MEASUREABLE, ATTAINABLE, REALISTIC, and has a TIME COMPONENT to it.
We also have one other component, which is the most important of all the letters. It is the foundation for everything we do, and it is the WHY. Without an extraordinarily strong why, it is almost impossible to get leverage on yourself or from me to hit a target that does not have a strong definable reason as to WHY you want to go there.
Without the WHY, your goal is more like a wish. For example, I want to win the lottery, but I never buy a ticket. It is an idea, it may be a dream, but you have nothing invested
